"Tyro" is the first CD from Ruairidh Macmillan, winner of the prestigious "BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year" in 2009. A graduate of the RSAMD Scottish Music course, Ruairidh is an excellent fiddle player whose style perfectly blends the old with the new, using a mix of traditional, contemporary and self-penned tunes. He is joined on "Tyro" by Tia Files (guitars, bass), Adam Brown (bodhran), Alasdair Macleod (drums) and Brian Macneill (concertina, bouzouki).
